Dahana samskaram
Dahana samskaram is the karma of the first day. We reach your home in Hyderabad within the hour, prepare the paarthiva deham in the vaidika manner, perform the karmas at home, travel with the family to the ghat and complete the samskaram there. The purohit, every item of samagri, the vehicle and the katta booking are ours to arrange.
When a death happens, the family should not be the ones making arrangements. One call to 80083 91768 brings the purohit and, if they are needed, the freezer box and the antima yatra vehicle. The karmas begin at home: the paarthiva deham receives its last snanam and is dressed in new vastram, the tilakam and the tulasi are placed, and the karta makes the first offerings. We then go with the family to the ghat, where the pinda pradanam, the pradakshinam, and the giving of agni to the chita follow in their order.
Every step is told to the karta before it is done, in Telugu, English or Hindi. Nothing is hurried. Where your family keeps a custom of its own, name it and we follow it. We come to every part of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, and to the ghats at Amberpet, Bansilalpet, Punjagutta, Malakpet and the rest.
Before we leave you that day you are told what follows: the chinna dinam on the third or fifth day, the nitya karmalu each day until the tenth, and the dasa dina karma. You need not hold the count. We hold it.

Questions about this karyam
Who performs the karma?
The karta, who by custom is the eldest son or another close male relative of the line. Where there is no son, the family decides with us who will take it; the karma is done in full either way.
What must we keep ready at home?
Nothing. The full samagri comes with us, the lamp included. A clean space on the floor where the deham may be laid is all that is needed.
Can the dahana samskaram be done the same day?
Almost always, yes. If relatives are travelling, the deham is kept at home in a freezer box overnight and the karmas are done the next morning.
Do you book the ghat?
Yes. We book the katta at the ground nearest you, or at the one your family prefers, and settle what has to be settled there.
