Dasara navaratri
Dasara Navaratri is the nine nights of Devi, from Padyami to Navami, with Vijayadasami on the tenth. We perform the kalasa sthapana on the first day, the daily pooja and alankaram through the nine, the Saptashati or Lalitha Sahasranama parayanam, and the Vijayadasami pooja, at your home or in your community pandal.
A house keeping Navaratri needs the kalasam established on Padyami and attended each day, and that is the part families most often ask us to take on, because it cannot be missed on a working day. We come daily, or set it up and come only on Ashtami, Navami and Vijayadasami, whichever the family wants.
The alankaram changes each day, and we bring what each one asks for. Where a community keeps a pandal, we arrange the purohits for the nine days together, the Chandi homam on Ashtami, and the Vijayadasami pooja with the ayudha pooja for those who keep it.
No prices are listed here. Each karyam is quoted on the phone, once we know the date, the place and the custom your family follows.
Questions about this karyam
Must the purohit come all nine days?
Not necessarily. Many families have us establish the kalasam and return for Ashtami, Navami and Vijayadasami. Tell us which suits your household.
Do you take on a community pandal?
Yes, for the whole nine days, with the Chandi homam on Ashtami. Book early; Navaratri fills months ahead.
Is the ayudha pooja part of it?
On Vijayadasami, for families and businesses that keep it. Tell us and we will bring what it needs.
Which alankaram falls on which day?
The order differs between houses and between temples, and both are correct. Tell us the order your family or your pandal has kept, and we follow it; where there is no settled order we suggest one and give it to you in writing on the first day, so that the alankaram, the naivedyam and the colour of the day are all decided before Navaratri begins.
